Zombies arrived with Operation Cryo. GameLoaded Entertainment announced that operation for 31 October 2025 as a Halloween update with zombies and a New York City map, and pointed players at the official reveal. Sawang's quests are set nine months after those events, so the mode is still part of the current game, not a retired event.
What a run is
The November 2025 overview of Cryo splits the mode into pieces you can still use as a checklist:
- A survivor side and an operator side.
- Supplies you have to carry.
- Gas zones you do not stroll through.
- An extraction that banks the run.
- Quest rewards separate from the loot on the ground.
- Hostile infected and other enemies, not only a horde timer.
A creator overview from the weekend Cryo launched also says you can deploy as an operator using tokens earned from missions, or pay Robux for that deploy. That price and token rule is a creator walkthrough of the launch build. Read the deploy screen. Do not assume the 2025 Robux figure is still the button you see.
Typhoon's public notes say the new Sawang quests sit nine months after Zombies. They do not, in the excerpt used here, restate extract payouts. Ignore any cash-per-raid number that is not on your reward screen.
How to stay in the run
- Bring a rifle you can shoot more than once, plus ammunition. A precision build is the wrong specialty.
- Stay with the group. A split player gets surrounded. This mode punishes a solo wander more than Ronograd does.
- Keep a street or open lane behind you. A doorway that funnels infected also traps you if nobody watches the rear.
- Clear the immediate threat before you start a revive, a loot pile, or a quest interact.
- Treat gas as a reason to leave or to wear the protection the mode gives you. The Cryo overview spends a chapter on gas for a reason.
- Reload while the street is quiet.
- Extract when the objective is done. Extra blocks are how a finished run becomes a death.
Night is called out by players of the Cryo build as the dangerous window, including a warning not to be outside at night. Exact clock times differ by guide and are not repeated here as a rule.
What this mode will not teach you
It will not teach helicopter startup, Ronograd truck deliveries, or Sawang strongpoint holds. Do those on their own maps. Use Zombies when you want the quarantine loop: loot, gas, squad, extract.
